New Heights is proud to announce that 17 of our alums graduated from college and 2 alums graduated with advanced degrees in May.  Most of our alums have accepted full-time position at companies such as Bloomberg LP, Wayfair.com, while others have decided to continue their education or play overseas basketball professionally. We are extremely proud of all of our college graduates and wish them the best of luck in the future.

Career Assist Recognizes Damarcus Miller

NEW HEIGHTS ALUM: Damarcus Miller
HEIGHT: 6'1
HIGH SCHOOL: Stepinac High School GPA: 3.0
COLLEGE: Stony Brook University
STANDING: Freshman
SPORT: Football
BACK TO BUSINESS: Our New Heights alumnus, Damarcus Miller, continues to be an outstanding student-athlete by ending his first semester strong with a 3.25 GPA at Stony Brook University. Damarcus also got accepted to the College of Business at Stony Brook University and is now a Health Science major, minoring in Business Management. Demarcus is interested in becoming a Physician Assistant in the future and has a passion for helping others, which he cultivated through various community service efforts in high school, church and New Heights. Damarcus is highly skilled in both basketball and football but decided to pursue football in college. New Height’s is very proud of Damarcus and will be following and supporting his athletic, academic and professional career.

NEW HEIGHTS ALUM: Cori Coleman
HEIGHT: 5'8
HIGH SCHOOL: Murry Bergtraum
COLLEGE: Cleveland State University
CURRENT TEAM: Vimpelin Veto (Finland)
THE SKINNY:  Cori Coleman, New Heights Class of 2011, is currently playing professionally in Finland for Vimpelin Veto as their point guard/shooting guard. Cori graduated from Cleveland State University in 2015 with a degree in Public Relations. She served as the team captain her senior year and also became the leading 3-point scorer in CSU history. Cori has utilized the skills she learned at New Heights to advance her academic and professional career.

HIGH SCHOOL: St. Benedict’s
COLLEGE: Duke
CURRENT TEAM: New York Knicks
THE SKINNY: Lance Thomas, New Heights’ class of 2006, is currently playing forward for the New York Knicks. A 2010 graduate of Duke University, where he served as team captain and won a National Championship, Lance embodies the true meaning of student-athlete.
